The seller should play the lottery as they got lucky. Obviously the buyer did not know they could buy a new one for that $$.

In hindsite each has the right to pay what they desire, my opinion adds no value after the fact.

Mods please feel free to close the thread.

It just ain't cool. I don't mind voicing my opinion on some legacy cc members, but not a complete stranger.

Simple rules of buying at an auction. Know what the going price is, set your limit, and don't drink too much.

The buyer probably is not familiar with the market, hence he/she overpaid. Now in reality does it matter how much he/she paid? Not really they bought what they wanted/liked now enjoy it.

H*ll it may help our resale values some, so there is a positive

Hell, one man's 63k is another man's 63 cents. Only 2 people need to be happy with that number, the buyer and the seller.

Someone bid 62k and did not get to take it home. And a number of others bid over 40k for it and also "missed out". I'd like to meet these people...

It has no bearing on resale values.

Was this something extra special? If I could never get another, I would not sell mine for 63k!
Jay did not pay me to say that, either.

I was offered 65 for mine, told the person no and informed them that they could build exactly what they wanted for that. They just didn't want to wait for the car (no I didn't sell the car). A lot of people don't like waiting.

So he paid what he was willing to pay, the seller perhaps made out okay (I dont know the car, depending on drivetrain, options, and tax the original price could have been well over that number), and the buyer didn't have to wait 6 months plus another month or two for registration.

$63k doesn't even sound like that high of a number, especially at one of these auctions.
