If you need to replace your fuel sender, you might want to look into the Holley 19-250 optical fuel level sensor. It uses a LIDAR beam to measure fuel levels, eliminating floats or other mechanical paraphernalia. Here is a link to it on their site => Holley Easy Level Sender.
Check out their video on the same page to get a pretty good explanation of the gizmo, and then download their install instruction pdf.
