It just seems that nobody wants to pay for quality parts these days. I believe there is somebody out there making cheap aluminum reproductions for $200 +.
The castings have to be cast 10 at a time, the cost is roughly $2000 before machining. Per the arms, I have to purchase no less than. 4’x4’ sheet of material and then have the arms cut and bent.
Does anyone have a photo of an AC Cobra Mk2 drivers or passengers 'A' post showing the door locating hole and peg. I have the locating tube on the door but nothing on the 'A' post?
At this point we have had no further interest into ordering the alternator bracket assemblies. Until this changes and we have more requests I can't see ordering another batch of bracket castings or adjusting arms, the whole process is an expensive process in both manufacturing and machining time. If anything changes I will contact those that have shown interest. My apologies to those that are in need but I don't have a bottomless bank account to fund these things sitting on a shelf. John
Hi Bill, I got it from John Bessey (if memory serves). He had a few cast, but they certainly weren't cheap. It could be for sale at some point though as I'm converting back to a Lucas dynamo.
