Thank you for the message. I'm going to have weld a top plate across the back of the crossmember in order to mount the front hoop legs and I was unaware this was needed.
I ordered the roll bars (Driver/Passenger) in late June 2010 and received the bars in December 2010. I was not in any hurry due to my personal build schedule. The bars look great and will be either powder coated or chromed - not sure yet. The bars will be welded to the frame directly or attached to fabricated mounts welded to the frame (the preferred choice). the frame doesn't need to be "modified".
I have corresponded with Ed since the early 2000's and had the chance to meet him at his home/shop in Michigan last summer when I went there to pick up my "rebuild Cobra". He is extremely knowledgeable and my best source for exotic information about the CRs.
I have also sent him parts that I have no further need for.
