Lucas underhood parts wanted
I want to install the original Lucas electronics into my car. They will be for the correct look, and will not be functional. I am looking for all the parts on the firewall in the engine bay, as well as the immediate harnessing coming off them. I plan to mount it all up as original and then run the dummy wiring into my current harness.
If anyone has these parts and harness and wants to get rid of them, please let me know. Thanks!

Sentiments similar to Tularins. During my MGA/B, and TR3/4 days, we tried to replace the Lucas stuff (junk) with American made electrics.
Cobra has Lucas turn, tail, and stoplights, and even new, needed reworking. (Even used Delco, rather than Ford alternator for reliability)
Put a Shelby American, Venice California plate in the engine bay for originality.

Non functioning Lucas electrics what a concept. I think you are onto something here.

Come on now guys, if you read my original post, I said the Lucas stuff was for the correct look only and would be non-functional.
So does any one have them?

Hmmm.....Someone has to do this.....
The Lucas motto: "Get home before dark."
Lucas denies having invented darkness. But they still claim "sudden, unexpected darkness"
Lucas--inventor of the first intermittent wiper.
Lucas--inventor of the self-dimming headlamp.
The three-position Lucas switch--DIM, FLICKER and OFF.
The other three switch settings--SMOKE, SMOLDER and IGNITE.
The original anti-theft devices--Lucas Electric products.
"I've had a Lucas pacemaker for years and have never experienced any
prob..."
If Lucas made guns, wars would not start either.
Did you hear about the Lucas powered torpedo? It sank.
It's not true that Lucas, in 1947, tried to get Parliament to repeal
Ohm's Law. They withdrew their efforts when they met too much
resistance.
Did you hear the one about the guy that peeked into a Land Rover and asked the owner "How can you tell one switch from another at night, since they all look the same?" "He replied, it doesn't matter which one you use, nothing happens!"
Back in the '70s Lucas decided to diversify its product line and
began manufacturing vacuum cleaners. It was the only product they offered which didn't suck.
Quality Assurance phoned and advised the Engineering guy that they had trouble with his design shorting out. So he made the wires longer.
Why do the English drink warm beer? Lucas made the refrigerators, too.
Alexander Graham Bell invented the Telephone.
Thomas Edison invented the Light Bulb.
Joseph Lucas invented the Short Circuit.
Recommended procedure before taking on a repair of Lucas equipment:
check the position of the stars, kill a chicken and walk three times
sunwise around your car chanting: "Oh mighty Prince of Darkness protect your unworthy servant."
Lucas systems actually uses AC current; it just has a random
frequency.

For a car you planned on putting in a museum, and would never be driven, put the Lucas stuff in it. For a street car, don't think you'd win any points running fake non functioning Lucas electrics.
But if you insist, new OEM British made Lucas stuff can be had from europaspares.com in U.K. Used, would be pushing it, because it all went into the dumpster.

Just to add, for CCOE (i am die'en over here reading your post),
Did you know that after WWII, Jaguar was going to start building refrigerators to compete with Lucas ??
They droped the idea when they couldn't figure out how to make them leak oil.

Hi Sal, I love e-bay, the trick is finding what they came from. I have a post on original Cobra parts that turned up little of what you are looking for. The majority of the British sourced stuff seemed to be Austin Healey, Triumph TR3 and XK 120 for the fuse block on early 289, Daytona coupe, and 289 FIA. I see what you are trying to do and wish you well. I'm torn between laughing at the Lucas jokes and their inability to comprehend your original post. Good hunting.

Sal,
I hope the parts will work for you.
BTW, I have never had any problems with the new Lucas componets. Maybe the older parts have problems.
