Build it as if you where to install top now .that way if you decide to get a top all the ferrule are in. All you have to do decide when to purchase the top at later date . Imho

Try to take your brake pads to a napa store .hopefully the guy behind the counter wants to help . Locate the brake pads on there illustration books and go from there.hope this helps
