Question Will Shelby Dealers Have Stock?

I'll apologize if the following has been asked / answered before, but:

Is is SAI's (SASA's) intent tp produce enough cars so that dealers can stock them? It seems to me that part of SPF's appeal comes from the fact that a buyer can go into a showroom and buy a car off the floor (subject to color & options).

If this is Shelby's plan, then all the nay sayers have to do is wait until their local Shelby dealer has a few rollers in stock before plunking down a deposit.

If there are questions about manufacturing and delivery, why not wait a little while to see what shows up? It should be quicker than ordering an ERA, right Brent?

STG,

Yes our intent is to have stock units available to the dealer network and I agree that SPF having this available is a definate advantage to them in the market.

I must admit that SAI was amazed at the quantity of vehicles sold in the first days following the introduction at Monterey in mid August. The Shelby dealer network sold 50 units in 3 months which is equivelant to the total number of glass and aluminum units sold in 2001. We are not trying to collect deposits (liabilities) and sit on them but at the same time we did not know of any other way to put customers in line and make sure they are legitimate with their purchase request.

The sequence of events that have led up to the delay in delivery of vehicles is hard to take ownership of but plain and simple we (SAI) are at fault and knowone else. We are trying to get things leveled out and will continue to use all resources at our disposal until we succeed in satisfying all orders and get stock units on our show room floor.

To this end I would like to inform everyone that in order to subsidize the production of fiberglass bodied CSX4000 vehicles at SASA, SAI has placed eight production units on line in Las Vegas and will place additional units on line pending the performance of the newly formed company. The units being built out by SASA and SAI are all built to the same configuration utilizing the same engineering, components and quality standards so please do not turn this into a platform to state that one is more valuable than the other or that one is better than the other. Please realize we are one company and will help each other get through this as well as any future setbacks that have ramifications on our customers.

The other garbage that was posted in this thread has been split out and removed.

I can't say for sure that Shelby is completely forthcoming here, but I can't say they are not either. I don't have a major concern that their customers are not going to get the product that have put a deposit on, albeit late.

As for those who have agendas, hidden or otherwise, if you have a problem, contact Shelby directly. Especially those who have false identities such as "mechanic", you are not welcome here. As much as I have thought negatively about Shelby's busienss practices at times, they are representing information as themselves...They are putting their reputation on the line with their posts. You, who hide behind these false identities taking pot shots, are simply cowards. Why anyone would trust the information you provide any more than someone who has put their reputation on the line is beyond me. Shelby, for all it's warts lately, should be encouraged to share with the public, and not be nailed to the wall every single time they post something.

If you have factual information AND PROOF of it to the contrary of Shelby's CURRENT dealings, please feel free to share with the group and disclose your identity, location, etc....Until then, GET OFF OF SHELBY. (I should note, that I have no affiliation with Shelby, they do not pay for advertising, I do not own one of their cars, and they have not asked me to stand up for them in any way, so I am NOT biased...)
