Description:
|
A true time capsule of a find, an actual 1960's Ford Racing 289 Block. - part number C6FE-6015-A.
This was "the" small block of the 1960's - Winning Trans AM races, FIA, LeMans as a Cobra, Coupe and GT40 motor, race after race, this was the block.
The 1966 C6FE-6015-A , with a casting date of 6B14, was generated to celebrate the St. Valentines Day Massacre of 5R003 decimating Stingrays in a little speedway in Texas exactly 1 year earlier.
If you are in need of a period correct, historically correct, accurate block for your 1966 - 1968 ford racing restoration, this is the iron foundation for your build.
It will clean up and run 0.020 overbore pistons
It is on original iron now, it has never been sleeved , welded , etc - and has not needed to be.
The block is 100% free of rust and last ran on July 20th 2010. - we have video of its last run prior to its decommissioning, the successful buyer will also receive a CD of all examination pictures, video and notes for record keeping with your restoration.
If you are confused on why this is special, here is some background.
In 1964,65 Ford was set on a course for domination of the 1960s , there target was clear LeMans sed in the TA program, the Cobra Race program and others, this was the ford Muscle Block of 1966.
This particular block came from a long time collector, This particular block is free from all defects and can be cleaned up, machined and assembled with 20' over pistons.
I have video of this block as a running engine prior to the dis-assembly.

Not to nit pick but I see a casting date of 6B14 (66-FEB-14) not 2B14.
