Are you sure the latch is broken and that the door is not just sticking/binding?
Try to hold the latch down and give the door a good smack on the inside and maybe it will un-bind.
Otherwise, if it is like my FFR maybe you can remove the 2 screws that hold the cover on the latch and use a screw driver to pry the latch back.
