No matter which way you go in terms of a heating system, a defroster is a good idea.

As Steve knows, I regularly drive from sea level over a hwy pass that's about 1,800 feet. It doesn't happen that often, but last week my front window fogged up in the blink of an eye. I turned the SPF heater to defrost and the window cleared up right away.
