Yeah the fella that drowned was an indigenouse guy, he tried to walk accross the river close to the second picture on Friday night (when it was at its peak).
He was walking/staggering from where he lives at a town camp and trying to make his way to the bottle shop (other side of the river).
A bit harsh to say he got what he deserved but a pretty stupid thing to do just to buy a carton of
VB.
