Default Wire insulation

I have diagnostic tach wire that I keep accidently melting on the engine when tuning. I guess that's what I get for buying a cheaper tach without insulated wires.

Anyway, can someone point me to a wire sheath/tube/sock like they have for spark plugs (but much smaller gauge - more like a 12 gauge house electrical wire in diameter) that I can slide on. I don't really want to wrap the wire in heat tape and lose the flexibility. Even the wrapped wire heat shielding would impact flexibility a lot.

Thoughts?
