The Dallas Cobra club is a good group of guys and I can tell you all you have to do is ask for help and they will help and teach you all you need to know to maintain the car. Come out to one of the monthly meetings and introduce yourself. I don't have a Cobra yet, but several members of the club came out this past spring to help me change the clutch in my Mustang. I think you will find that doing your own maintenance is not as hard as you think, and any issues are just an ask away.
We meet on the first saturday of every month. Watch this forum for details in the couple of days leading up to the meet.
Edit: Also watch for requests for help. You can come out and learn what it takes to maintain. As Joe said, it takes more than the average car, but I don't think it isn't something that someone who wants to learn can't easily learn.
