45KG difference going from Iron to Aluminum??!! I didn't think it would be as much as that. Must be a heavy wall high nickle content on their Iron blocks.
There's probably cheaper and easier ways to remove weight. Probably easier to just add HP.
My CR weighed in at 1060KG at rego with a half tank of fuel. Not sure on the front rear split. I got it through rego with no windscreen so probably saved a few KG there with out all the stuff that goes with it i.e wipers, heater etc.
It's got a windscreen and wipers now but I've removed a heap of weight from the rear by making tubular rear arms. It'll be interesting to see what it weighs again when it's all done.
