Mine is a 9"X3" with the X-Stream top, too. Right now, it sits up into the scoop with 1/4" top clearance, not much more side clearance. Since my scoop is too small to hold an 11" or 14" filter, I am pretty much stuck with the 9".....

I think I'll call K&N, too. My 302 is mostly stock, only converted from EFI to carb. Maybe with the X-Stream filter top I could provide all the air the engine would need with a 2 1/2" filter, maybe even a 2".

I certainly don't want to start chopping mounting horns off the frame if I can manage any other way....just want to make sure the engine will get the air it needs.
