One thing needs to be mentioned here. It's a nice idea to have a braided hose cutter available if you don't want to use a hack saw or large shears but remember to wrap the hose at the cut point with one or two layers of masking tape first. The tape will prevent the wire braids from unraveling at the cut point when you cut. Cut in the middle of the tape wrap and both sides of the cut will remain nice and neat. I have actually left the tape in place when installing the hose ends which helps get all the braided ends inside the fitting where they belong. One item radelow didn't mention was a bottle of lube to use when assembling the fittings. Of course, motor oil could be used in place of the assembly lube but I just prefer the lube.
