Here are popular engines from '61 with engine code, CID and HP. The engine code can be found on the doorplate, but that's not going to help you. Just to give you an idea of what you might have.

If I'm not mistaken, the 406 w/ 385 HP (4 bbl) and 405 HP (3x2) ran 61-63. And a rare solid-lifter 390 w/ 3x2s and 403 HP appeared in '61.
My guess is the 390 or 352.
