Well, no... on all points. The name of my color, "arizona beige," is a little misleading. When I told both Peter at ERA, and Walt at Connecticut Custom, that I was painting the car beige, their jaws both dropped. Walt even said "look Pat, I'll paint it purple with pink polka dots if you pay me to, just think it over some more before making a final decision." But when it came out of the spray booth, Walt said "that's not beige, that's silver, kinda..." and Peter said, "no, that's not silver, that's more of a pewter, with a tint...." Both agreed, however, that whatever it was, it was not "beige." And both absolutely loved it. Of course, I knew it would go that way -- the color is subtle, neutral, and not the least bit overpowering. It has an elegant, strong hue, that is naturally highlighted by the black stripes and accents. Now, on the other hand, "black cherry" is a whole different kettle of fish.... But, on the other hand, it's not red, yellow, or blue -- it's more along the lines of "purple with pink polka dots." All I can guess is that the particular color of that car meant something special to the owner... and, frankly, that's his business. But, if I was in the market for that car, I'd have to factor in the cost of blasting off that color and replacing it with something else... like beige.
