Danr, of course I worked on Fords....They wre always breaking something so they made me a good living. There was always money to be made when it rained because they had a nasty tendenancy to miss or stall if they went through a big puddle of water. WD40 did wonders for them and made me a hero, many times.
AL427, The owners' manuals and Motor's Manuals almost always said to use the additional quart of
oil, when changing the filter. Maybe they thought it was better to have more than enough rather than to trust the installer with measuring a few ounces. ??
