Thanks guys. The low profile isn't really the issue, it's the centre hole diameter and thread size. Thread is definitely not the same on the C6 LS2 sump as I tried fitting a VE Commodore filter and it didn't work. Not sure whether it was LS2 or LS3 though.
I'm dumping the
oil on Saturday so worst case I'll visit the usual outlets with the old filter and report back findings.
A bit surprising that all you blokes with the low profile pans haven't changed your
oil in recent times! Tsk tsk
