Great info!
I have purchased 2 sets of Gill batteries (4 total) and have found them to be less than acceptable. After the first set, which only lasted 1 year, found that they must be kept on a tender when not used. If during times of non use ~3months (winter) if the voltage dips below 12.3 vdc they sulfate very quickly leading to drastically reduced storage capabilities. Almost impossible to refresh after this happens even with a high current plate burn.
They were covered under a prorated warranty, so I was very careful with the second set. BTW, I use a master disconnect switch each and every time the car is shut down, tender pluged in immediately.
The second set only lasted 2 1/2 years.
I had had enough, so I went with a single Interstate battery that was long and narrow enought to fit the battery box behind the seat. Still going after 3 years and never hook up the tender until winter. I believe it was a "VHD" series....?
