I've always bought them at my local Ford dealer, then swapped the vintage cover over to the new unit.

Bought a good quality modern solid state version, swaspped on the vintage 60's black regulator cover and voila, everything worked!

The first 65 reproduction Ford solonoid stuck "ON" (spinning the started continuously) shortly after installation and after only about a dozen starts. Hit the battery disconnet switch real fast.

Bought another one and now 6 months later it's sufferring a stuck "OFF" symptom (no power to the starter). Give it a rap with a pastic hammer and it works.

So, can anyone recommend a good reliable solonoid? I have a Dralast sitting on the shelf from a local auto parts store.

Thanks for youe help.
