If you remove the wire and leave it off for your adjustments, this would be fine. However, make sure you reinstall the wire when you feel the exhaust valve is the correct one after your adjustment.

Additionally, leave the carbs on the motor and get yourself a pair of needle nose or surgical pliers.

Also make sure you sure a nice sized flat head screw drive so you dont strip the exhaust valve and float holding screw.

Another trick on the float screw is to use a flat head bit with a small wrench to get in the tight areas or use a socket and ratchet
