It takes four bolts to remove an ERA seat. You do it from underneath the car. If you were absolutely serious about buying somebody's ERA, you could prove to yourself that you would fit by removing the seat, putting a half inch piece of foam on the floor, then sitting in there and leaning back to touch the base of the wall, then give yourself an inch forward. If your legs need a little more room, there's a trick to using a larger master to give, maybe, an extra three-quarters inch (I have that on mine). If I were a short seller (ha ha, get it, "short seller"), and you flew in from out of town to see my car, showed me a bank statement with the cash needed, and then said
"OK, I'll take it if we can do one more thing..." -- I'd then take the seat out for you.
