IMO thinking that you can buy retail gasoline without ethanol is a scam. You can't legally sell on-road gasoline in Oregon or California (and probably a few other states as well) without ethanol in it. And exactly where was the gasoline made? Most
oil refineries don't make gasoline that is not meant to have ethanol in it. Ethanol has an octane of about 115, refiners make a sub-grade gasoline delivered to the terminals such that when the terminal loads a truck and with 10% ethanol it is 87, 89 or 91, 92, etc. octane. Airports and boat marinas are the most likely the only place to find ethanol free gasoline. I think there is only ONE refinery on the West Coast that makes Avgas, the rest is railed in from the Midwest. The Sunoco 260GTX is a good way to know for sure you are buying gas without ethanol.
