I've found this too with mine. The current plan is to mill the bottom edge of the bell housing flush with the sump.
I'll post some before and after pics.
I had the Camaro sump on my CR before and it was the lowest point in the car. Switching to the C6 pan gained about an inch of ground clearance. Milling the bell housing will gain a little more again.
