Really important to pay a lot of attention to insulating the footwell.....
dynamat, plus heat shield inside and out, plus a layer of underlay and carpet etc....and the temp on the footwell will never be a problem.
I've got all of the above, plus mirror stainless sheeting in the engine bay, that is spaced away from the firewall, with a good air gap...and my footwell gets neither hot or cold.
I recon it really pays off when you spend time on these sort of things....I've driven plenty of really nice looking Cobras, that just about melt your shoes..and are horrible to be in after about 15 minutes.
I just drove mine to the Nats and back, and could not feel the slightest heat...most of the time in bare feet.
Really worth the extra mucking about to get it right.
Cheers,
Warren
