Dimensional difference 289/302 vs 351 - Vintage Mustang Forums
  • 289/302 - 24"
  • 351W - 25"

Width Range:
  • 289 / 302: 18.75 - 24"
  • 351W: 21 - 25"
  • 289 / 302 w/hemi heads: 26"
  • 351W w/hemi heads: 27.5"

Summary: 351W with hemi heads is wider than an FE or 385 series. Yeah, that would be a squeeze in a 289 car. Well, at least the spark plugs aren't buried deep under the heads!
