I think you'd be happy with the flowmasters as they are a bit queter than the factory Backdraft ones. Granted it won't help you judge the Kirkam...
They do polish out nicely (stainless steel) and I did have to spend a few hours sanding and buffing though before the welding. Once welded up I only had to go back over the joints with Black and Green Rouge.
