A tip we use for pulling lip seals on turbine engines is to drill the seal in the center of the metal rim with a #40 bit. We use drillstops to prevent dinging the underlying flange. Thread a drywall screw (hardened steel) into the seal and pryout with pair of Diagonal cutter pliers.
