If that is an O-ring seal, as it looks like it is, and it was properly designed and machined, it should not need any silicon or glues. A light coat of silicone grease to prevent damage as things need to slide when torqueing. However if it leaked and the silicone sealant fixed it leave it alone. Just a curiosity on my part is all.
