I was always under the impression that they thought we wouldn't do it correctly. If some one knows the exact reason I would be interested as well.

It would probably cost the same amount to convert the stock calipers to Wilwood. I have seen vented rotor Wilwood kits for under $700 for the rear with the calipers only costing about $80 each.
