One more comment if you want my opinion. . . .. 300# springs are good for cruising if you have a 2800# car. I have a race car that uses 450# springs and it rides pretty smooth. In fact, we are planning on going with 600# springs and I run a 4.3L bowtie block. I guess I agree with your question, ... try to get some experience from the people on the website and gear it to what you plan to do with the car. If you race the car at all 300# springs would be too low in rate.....IMHO.
