As Ken noted, I've used POR15. Works fine, gives a poor looking finish when you brush it on (grainy looking finish). I've heard that thinning and spraying POR15 gives a much better finish.
Rattle can epoxy works well and is as easy to get as the local hardware store. My vote is for the spray paint.
