Those twin cam heads actually make the Lexus quite a big motor. That's the price you pay for DOHC. Pretty good performer for it's 4.0 litre capacity though.
Have a look at how much room there is around the LS1 in my car. You can actually change the plugs without skinning your knuckles. The LS1 is an amazingly compact engine for it's 5.7 litre 346 cube capacity. What's more people are punching them out to 450 cubes now.
