I recently bought Superformance SP02290, she was built around 2005/2006 and has a 460 block. I've been told it is a 545 stroker, but I do not have any paperwork to verify that.

It has aluminum Super Cobra Jet heads, a Ford M-9424-429 single plane intake manifold, and a 770 CFM Street Avenger Carburetor. I've also been told it has a solid lifter camshaft, but do not know that for sure.

It also has a 12" oval air filter. That seem VERY small for this size engine. What are you folks running?

Congratulations on your purchase.

Based on the usual 12" x 8" oval pattern,
it's sufficient if the filter is at least 2-1/2" tall.

For a 2-1/2" tall oval described above, the power penalty is
about 2HP from that engine at 4000 RPM and 5HP at redline.

770CFM carb seems kind of small for a 545 but I'm sure
it's fine for street and if you're not going to hammer the throttle
past 5000 RPM. Someone smarter then me will come along to advise.

Lovely car Ray.

A 770 is only good for about 5000, so depends on the camshaft and the rest of the engine combo as to how hard the engine can spin.

Perhaps you post a video of the engine idling, and/or under load from 2000 up?

With the restricted air cleaner size, you need the best/less restrictive filter media.

Once you are used to the power, a larger carburetor might be in your future.
