Default 460 efi question

I am after some advice from anyone about the latest factory built efi 460. I'm building an RMC cobra kit and to get it registered it has to pass Australian emission laws from 2003. From my research so far 1997 seems to be the last of the 460 in the F truck or E series. Were there any major changes in the 1990's or are they basically the same? Also any differences between the vehicles sold in different states like California.
Also does anyone know the actual EPA figures that vehicles were required to meet in 1995. Tier 1. Over here in OZ its in grams per kilometre of CO, Hydrocarbons & oxides of Nitrogen.

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Sinkers

Sinkers,

The absolute best place to ask that question, as far as I know, is the 460 Ford Forum

The big negative for getting huge horsepower is that the EFI heads are completely different from the carbureted 460s in the intake and exhaust bolt holes and shapes. The head bolt locations are identical; both my built-up engines use the EFI truck block but have Edelbrock and Ford Racing heads.

As far as I'm aware there are no significant speed parts for the 460 EFI heads.

I have the Holley HP EFI on the Cobra (a 521) and am installing it on the station wagon (557). It uses the new Edelbrock 50665 intake with the injector bungs already cast in and machined so it's a lot easier now - and slightly less expensive. The Holley EFI is great but I have no idea how you might use it to meet your emissions requirements.

Thanks Tom, I will ask on the 460 forum as well. I'm not too concerned about horse power at the moment. I only have to pass emission control at the time I first register the car after that I will be able modify it without issue. Unlikely to ever be tested again.
Thanks

Sinkers,

Here's another place to look - I didn't have time to search it thoroughly: http://www.motorcraftservice.com/vdi...NGINE=7.5L+MFI

Somewhere on that site may be an answer to your question. Maybe ...
