Default Wheels

Hi to all Happy New Year from the UK, well the weather is miserable but the build is coming along slowly, I have been trying to decide which wheels/tyres to go for, I have a pair of front 17" halibrand replicas/tyres but to purchase Halibrand replica rears will cost me £700 just for the rims!! I wondered what the choice of others was? obviously its a personal decision but there will be favorites? I am using Jag running gear which has a Chevy pattern I believe? and the back spacing will have to be correct for my Dax. I would like to use 20" if possible, any suggestions as always well received. Dave

There are many Cobra replica's using Trigo wheels. They look almost identical to the original Halibrand. Instead of magnesium, I believe Trigo's are aluminum. You can research them further on their internet site. They are probably less expensive than Halibrands.

I've been trying to find a wheel that looks like those Carroll Shelby put on his "personal" 427 (5 slotted alloys or aluminum). His had to be machined to fit the pin drive. Can't find any like them (several companies make slotted alloys but all of them are oval slots not oblong) or any info on which wheels Shelby used on this car? Any help would be appreciated.

Any pictures of those wheels? Kinda sounds like a kidney bean?

I went with the TeamIII in 17x8 font, 17x9 1/2 rear. W/o spinners (and extra $300, set of 4).

I did have a set of Image spinners (U.K.) from Image wheels I considered puchasing at around $1600 / set. Compomotive, at the time was $ 500 apiece. Too rich or my blood. Anyway, I made adapters for the Image spiners to fit the TeamIII wheels, and they liiked great.
