The motor has been water free since built. The real benefits seem to be the elimination of boil over and increased longevity of the system. At first you may think $25 a gallon is expensive but the stuff lasts 500k miles and the benefits of elminating boil over actually make it inexpensive (no, I have nothing to do with the company!).
