Default Debris in oil filter

Because I can't find a stock 460 dipstick anywhere, I adapted a chevy dipstick which has to be inserted an exact sorta way. Well, a "buddy" of mine didn't insert the dipstick the "exact" way and I guess my Pete Jackson drive gear ate up about three inches of my dipstick. So, I changed the oil and filter, and cut the filter apart. I didn't find any metal, but I did find an amount of silver/white soft flakey material. Do you think it's main bearing material?

the trick would be to find out if the material is "Magnetic" or not. -- also I would drop the oil pan and check for rubble.

The key here is MOST bearing materiel is NON magnetic and clings to the bottom of the oilpan.

also whils under there (oil pan off) you can check endplay and such to see if you have eaten something.

Also, you could have your oil analyzed . I would change the oil, run the engine (get the analyzers recomendation) and then have it tested. But it might be more fun to just check the main and rod bearings. Good luck.
