Default valve covers w/breathers hght issue

Guys,

My 501 is installed (still finishing up a few small things). One of which is the following:

I added really nice Canton Oil breathers to the Valve covers. Unfortunatley they do not fit. (Cant close the hood). I was wondering if any one else had a problem like this or what they may have done to get around this. I had the "Push in type" Which are a bit lower profile and they fit but leaked. The Canton ones are attached to a welded pipe into the Valve cover with a baffel.

Anyway I am considering selling the current valve covers and starting over. So I thought I would see what other have done.

Thanks
Mike

I have some polished breathers that I would be willing to sell. Never leak and work extremely well. E-mail me if interested. One is exactly like the one in this picture and has a fitting for PCV to manifold or carb...the other has no fitting but vents without any oil residue on the valve cover.

Here's a fairly recent engine pic with a brushed/satin finish that I converted to. The breathers are the exact same, just a satin finish instead of polished. Converting the polished to satin is easy (if desired). I would think that these breathers would fit on a larger 460 motor without hood clearance issues.
