Even got the numbers right this time (stupid keyboard).
I’ve included a couple of links to both a gear ratio calculator and a tire diameter calculator that I’ve found to be of help. First use the tire diameter calculator to give you a diameter of the tires you’re running then use the gear ratio calculator by plugging in the ratios of whatever transmission you’re contemplating. Finally add the rear end ratio you’re considering. With these numbers you can look at mph vs rpm and get some idea of what you’ll get with any given setup. Fun to play with for THEORETICAL numbers that allow you to use any combination of factors. Remember, your results may vary.
I’ve spent some time with them to make the final decision of my transmission/rear end ratio that I think will work well for me. It won’t be ideal but will get me in the ballpark for what I want as an end result.
