I always thought SPF was Sun Protection Factor or perhaps even surreptitious policy factor.
As for the word "Superformance". I think it is just plain spelled wrong. Probably stuck as an escalation of commitment sort of thing. You know "DAMN, you mean to tell me we printed a million of these things and the name is spelled wrong! Oh, well. Lets roll with it".
