Default SPF pronunciation?

This has been bugging me for a long time, what's the correct way to pronounce Superformance? I've heard it pronounced a couple different ways, including "Super Formance."

Or is it a play on words where the "per" belongs to both the "Sup" and "formance" yielding "Super Performance"?

And please don't tell me I need a secret decoder ring to find out

No decoder ring but if you don't know the secret hand shake then I can't tell you.
Honestly though, I always assumed it was pronounced super-formance.

LOL :

I don't know...this is a tough one....ya gotta deal with the decoder ring...secret handshake... initiation with no hazing (well, maybe some) ....once ya survive the members vote for admission...HUH...???..once ya buy one you get a choice of vhs , cassette or cd that is kind of like the Berlitz language course...

dont tell anyone, but the instructor says FOLLOW ME :

can you say SU-PER-FOR-MANCE....sure you can..., repeat: SU-PER-FOR-MANCE...ok, a little faster now..equal time on each syllable with just a little extra emphasis on SU...yep, thats it...a little more now on PER....OK< THATS IT...SUPERFORMANCE !!!

whew...thank goodness for language instructors. Bill SPF 156, as in SU-PER-FOR-MANCE one-fifty-six

OOPS....I just checked the SPF dictionary and learned that there are other interpretations used by some select folks who are not members of the society, those whose decoder rings were recovered and whose hands were not allowed to do the secret hand shake.

some of those folks in retaliation have sought other advice and remedies seeking legal relief . for them the spelling is changed and an additional vowel is added with MUCH more emphasis oh the first syllable SUE , thus you might see some refer to it as :

............. SUEPERFORMANCE ................

LOL...Bill, SPF (with only 2 "E's") , 156

No John,

It' pronounced Sat tur tur day, just like Su per per formance.

Now that we are on the subject, why is it called a "hot water heater" if the water is hot, why do you need to heat it?

Damn you guys; don't tell or "show" them anything on this public forum!
If these "outsiders" want to know they must join our secret club and "THEN" they will learn all the "poop".

Then you shouldn't invite "outsiders" to SPF sponsored events like the Olthoffs do with Club Cranky at VIR!!!

Love and Kisses,

A lesser Contemporary owner.

I always thought SPF was Sun Protection Factor or perhaps even surreptitious policy factor. As for the word "Superformance". I think it is just plain spelled wrong. Probably stuck as an escalation of commitment sort of thing. You know "DAMN, you mean to tell me we printed a million of these things and the name is spelled wrong! Oh, well. Lets roll with it".
