Does anybody out there have any knowledge of the
differences between a 406 and 427? I found a 1963 427,
but the owner says it is from a 406 sand casting. (never been bored) Its a complete short block with a 428 crank (never been turned), minus the cam. The The engine is just sitting in his garage, and needs to be freshened up for sure. Hes asking $3000. He says he will throw in a set of low/riser heads for free.

The crank turns just fine, but I'am a bit concerned because its
not running. Is this thing worth the money?
