I agree, doesn't seem likely but I won't rule it out yet as being totally impossible. The tuner/builder has been building custom fuel injection systems for as long as anyone in the business; has done many Cobras, originals, and some very rare GT40s, etc. I have no way to confirm it, and why I made the original post to see what you guys would have to compare to. I'll try and chase down who owns the car now to see if I can learn more about it. For now, its just a story with no direct proof, but we'll see...
