The 429-460ci 385 series are certainly more plentiful and have a very good selection of performance parts available. And will cost less to build as noted by BANDIT 1.
But its not a FE and thats what makes all the difference to me. It won't fit in an ERA ( and maybe others?) due to the width across the heads unless you modify the footboxes.
If its all-out HP you want and it fits in the engine bay a 460 is fine.
But since lineslinger only mentioned FE engines I think he looking for the authenticity factor as well.
