I just put a Scat 9000 stroker crank in my 427 SO. It needed $200 of heavy metal to balance. My machinist said most Scat cranks need more work getting them to balance than Eagles do. Based on that, Eagle is going to be cheaper in the long run. Also, my rod clearance ran from .012 to .021...this was in the crank throw width, as the Eagle rods all measured the same.
Eagle rods also seem to have a better reputation...not in strength necessarily, but in quality control.
