If your going to epoxy them in, you need to thicken the epoxy. Epoxy alone won't be strong enough, and will run too much.

What you need to do is mix some 'wood flour' into the epoxy. The best source is if you have a palm sander with a dust collector, mix some of that extra fine saw dust in with the epoxy to thicken it. Besides thickening it and keeping the epoxy from running, it will make the joint much stronger.

I would drill a couple small holes in the pieces that will be attatching so as to hold better also.

Otherwise look into an epoxy product like PC-7 which may or may not be available where you are.
