I used fiberglass matting and plain resin to attach the brackets to the body. I'd suggest poking some holes in the angle piece or creating some other kind of "teeth" for the resin to hold to. I put the threaded rivets into the brackets 1st, then bolted them onto the louvers and held the whole thing onto the body by strapping over a piece of wood on the outside. Then I glassed in the mounting brackets. The only mess is getting all the drips before they harden. If you can work quickly, mix the resin a little hot to minimize the time before it takes a set. That'll eliminate a lot of the drips. A rag soaked in Xylol will clean it up nicely before it sets.
